King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, took part in the “Zad Alelm” community initiative launched by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, in partnership with the Ghaith Charity Association, aimed at supporting children from low-income families at the start of the new academic year.
The initiative seeks to empower students with a dignified start to their school journey, while fostering a spirit of giving and social responsibility among volunteers and participating universities. It provides essential support to underprivileged students through school uniforms and fully equipped school bags, while also encouraging King Abdulaziz University students to embrace volunteerism, community service, and the values of solidarity and education as a fundamental right.
Students from the university’s Scouts and student clubs participated in the initiative, which was held in Dhihat Sumou, Makkah. During the event, school uniforms and fully equipped school bags were distributed to children of needy families bringing joy to the children and their families, while raising community awareness among participating students. The university was also presented with a shield of appreciation in recognition of its contribution.
